Russian Pointe® honors winners of international ballet competition
That’s one of the reasons that Russian Pointe® was a proud sponsor of the Stars of the 21st Century, an international ballet competition that took place Feb. 4-7 in Panama City, Panama.
Founded in 1993, the Stars of the 21st Century ballet competition is open to dancers from all around the world who range in age from 9 to 25. This year, dancers hailed from countries as diverse as Mexico, Canada, Hong Kong, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and Panama.
Every year, dancers compete in various age divisions and perform both classical ballet and contemporary dance pieces. Winners receive scholarships to some of the most prestigious dance schools in the world, including the Ailey School in New York, the Royal Ballet School in London, and the State Ballet School in Berlin.
This year, seven outstanding dancers also received a certificate from Russian Pointe®, good for two pairs of pointe shoes for each girl or $168 worth of Russian Pointe® merchandise for each boy.
The Russian Pointe® winners were: Sarah Clark (25, Canada) Shelly Corin Belliard Rosario (15, Dominican Republic) Pablo José Paredes Kranwinkel (14, Dominican Republic) Anthony Vivas Oviedo (22, Venezuela) Laleska Seidel Briceño (13, Venezuela) Dominique Roux (9, Panama) Leonardo Cheng (12, Panama)
It is always exciting to see such young performers who are so dedicated to dance, and who perform with elegance and grace beyond their years. We are proud to honor these talented dancers, and it is a privilege to support them on their journey to becoming the ballet stars of tomorrow!
